Learning is facilitated by a staff of qualified, dedicated, and happy teachers while we maintain a healthy pupil teacher ratio to enable individual attention. Our Curriculum is customized to suit our purpose with coursework content compiled using the framework of the English National Curriculum along with key concepts of the Maria Montessori Curriculum in the Nursery School. In the Primary school, it is tailored after the English National Curriculum and key concepts of the Nigerian Curriculum.
- Aside our core learning, we help discover and develop the God given talents in every boy and girl that comes to us as he/she participates in carefully organized and monitored extra curricular activities such as sports, art, drama, music, ballet, taekwando and games. Our Physical and Health Education program and extra curricular activities are interesting while they enable students release stored energy.
- It is however not only the demanding and exciting coursework followed at Acehall that make our school unique, but also the value we place on character; good moral values, etiquette and good manners, integrity, and respect are all embedded to produce skilled young people, ready to face future challenges.
SCHOOL DAY/HOUR
School is open every Monday to Friday. Students might be required to come to school once in a while on a Saturday during special school programs.
Parents’ approval will usually be sought on such occasions. The school day begins at 7.50 am and ends at 1pm for Nursery classes; there is however an After School Hours program that keeps Nursery students productively engaged until 4pm.
Parents wishing to register their students for afternoon classes will do so for a fee. For primary classes, school ends at 2.30pm, however students in primary school close at 3.30pm on elective club days
ASSESSMENT/REPORTING
• Assessment is a continuous process at Acehall School and is an integral part of learning.
It is carried out formatively at first and used to modify teaching and learning styles, after which summative reports are forwarded to parents. Assessment provides the school, the student, and the home with useful information about students’ progress. We are able to use assessment results to compare students’ attainment with their underlying potentials.
It is also a useful tool to appraise teachers’ performance.
• We report students’ progress twice in a term, at mid-term, and the end of term, thus six times within an academic year. Parents are given opportunities at mid-terms- OPEN DAYS,
to discuss their children’s peculiarities with teachers, supervisors, or the Head of School.
• Students are assessed in relation to the statements of expectations for every class contained in the school curriculum.
